CORGI is the Council for registered Gas Installers. It is an independent body appointed by the Health and Safety Executive to register gas installer businesses and maintain safety standards throughout the industry.  CORGI maintains a computerised database listing all Registered Gas Installers on mainland Britain.  All Gas Installers must successfully pass an assessment of competence by a CORGI Inspector before an application is approved. Once registered, an Installer is required to undergo regular inspections.  CORGI (the Council for Registered Gas Installers) is the National Watchdog for Gas Safety in the United Kingdom. Their mission is to promote and enhance gas safety, standards and quality in a professional and ethical manner.
